Eliminate excessive goodbyes when you leave and shun away from extended greetings when you return home. Before leaving, exhaust your puppy by engaging him in some tiring activity. Since they share a strong bond with their owners, they may display abnormal or erratic behavior when left alone. Bad treatment by previous owners or trainers could also make them susceptible. Finally, never, punish your dog or puppy for his behaviour, as this is not only totally unfair to him, but will only help to intensify his problems. It eases the separation in your dogs eyes by having a familiar place that it goes while you are home. Lack of human contact and contact with other dogs can cause stress in dogs.<
>
While many owners resort to punishing the dog for bad behaviour, this is directed at the behaviour itself and does not address the root of the problem. So put some of our suggestions into practice, and you'll see for yourself! However, if you failed to do that to the puppy while he is still young, there are also several measures to stop dog separation anxiety problem. If your new puppy has developed separation anxiety, it is important to remain calm and remember that the condition is treatable but will take time and patience to overcome. Teach him the proper training techniques and this will cure his separation anxiety. It is futile going out and coming back few seconds to cheer up your dog that everything is fine.<
>
Apply all the advice that has been given to you, and your relationship with your dog will be one you cherish forever. Your failure to acknowledge these indications or ignoring them as a puppy owner is hazardous. Play with your puppy for 15-30 minutes before you leave. When you're home teach the sit, down and stay commands to your pet. Man has adopted dogs from the wild several centuries ago. The good news is, it's fairly easy to treat and get rid of. One mistake owners make with a new puppy is not beginning puppy training until the pup is older.<
>
Another very good thing you can carry out to deal with the setback of puppy separation anxiety is to play very well with your dog before dissapearing from him or her. A tired dog is a happy dog. Also, remember to punish and restrict any bad behavior. The most widely accepted way to help puppies suffering from separation anxiety is to have planned departures. You might notice your pet to slowly become anxious at this behavior of yours. Your dog is anxious, because he's missing you.<
>
Some dogs are more relaxed when they are confined, so a dog or puppy crate may be helpful, but please make sure your dog or puppy has been introduced to it correctly, to be sure it does not cause him further distress. It's also avoidable. Treating your dog needs will take time, commitment and dedication. To help your dog go through the day, leave something that has your smell on it, such as an old piece of clothing. Perhaps it isn't getting masses of exercise or not getting enough of attention. Children should be taught never to bother a sleeping, crated dog or put their fingers into his personal space.<
>
Make sure that your pet is treated well by all the members of the family. A dog suffering from separation anxiety can do much damage to your house and your furniture. Puppy separation anxiety is a very common condition. Proceed slowly at first - short training sessions not longer than 5 to 10 minutes is a good start. You don't want your dog to just learn to follow commands, you also want your dog to be happy and feel loved. When your pet knows these basic obedience commands, begin training your dog to stay in one room while you go to another.<
>
