[jira] [Created] (RATIS-1149) Leader should step down and initiate
a stateMachine action in case of jvm pauses
Shashikant Banerjee created RATIS-1149:
------------------------------------------
Summary: Leader should step down and initiate a stateMachine action in case of jvm pauses
Key: RATIS-1149
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/RATIS-1149
Project: Ratis
Issue Type: New Feature
Components: server
Reporter: Shashikant Banerjee
Assignee: Shashikant Banerjee
Currently, a ratis leader can run into multiple jvm pause cycles either bcoz of gc/high IO activity etc. In case of frequent occurrences as such, a leader can voluntarily step down and call into stateMachine for any further action to be taken. A slow leader will potentially slow down the whole pipeline and may lead to client request failures.
