   Please get a Thread dump when the freeze occurs. You can use the JDK tools jps (list the running java applications) and jstack (get the threaddump) to get it. I suggest to test getting a dump with an unaffected instance, a dump can be generated at anytime, but of course for diagnosis the dump when the IDE is frozen is relevant.
