[users@httpd] help me save apache ...
Well i am an administrator in a company that uses
windows solutions .. but as far as webserver is
concern
apache was the choice made by me .. but we created
this new page that requires some input from users on
the web page i have been forced to think of replacing
apache with IIS simply because IIS support asp & guys
here know asp to be connected with access database ..
what should i do ? is all hope lost ? i mean it is
just a page man y should it replace a robust thing
like apache ? i hate IIS .. i have suffred from it a
lot in the past ..
can you guys give me any idea ? can this solution be
replaced by any other technology that apache supports
?
is it easy enough ? so that a network admin like me
can built a small form page & connect it with Ms
access database ?
help me save apache ...

I know folks have the best at heart, but he's looking for ASP on Apache,
not ASP alternatives. Dumping Apache for IIS is painful, but retraining
a team of developers to use similar but (lets not kid ourselves) entirely
different technology is far more painful and costly. When faced with the
choice to retrain an entire team or switch webservers, a smart manager
is going to choose switching webservers. If you don't like that, feel
free to present a business case the gentleman can use that makes it
affordable and in the best interests of the business.
Aside from that, all of the common ASP on Apache solutions have been
offered by folks on the list.

Check out http://wwws.sun.com/software/chilisoft/ for a full
implementation of ASP for Linux/Solaris.
may not work for you as Sun bought the technology and priced it at $495
per server. Still cheaper then Microsoft Server licensing, not to
mention headaches, etc.
Also check out http://www.apache-asp.org/.
