When I open it in word or in OO, it opens as a series of boxes or xx's. Yet it
still has a high # of MB's and is filed as a doc file. Other doc files on my
computer do open with OO. Pls help, thanks.

Please note that this is not a support platform but an issue tracker.

It seems that the file is broken and should be exchanged by a backup'ed file.
