Word to PDF

Good morning,
I want an example of converting Word to PDF.
I would also like to know if there is a cross-platform solution that can be
used.
Currently the conversion performed by OpenOffice is not 100%. There are some
formatting flaws.

The only option I found was this: http://www.davisor.com/publishor/, but the
license of that is very, very expensive
