   I see I asked a clarifying question 3 years ago and a response came back shortly after.  Now I see that my response should be "Working As Intended", no?
   
   I would not expect mod_pagespeed to rewrite a head request, so X-Mod-Pagespeed should be excluded.  Nor do I expect the Age or varnish headers to be retained.
   
   @sourcedump are you seeing other headers stripped that you don't expect?
