With a default install of the Windows Service Installer for 5.5.20 and the
options above specified %CATALINA_HOME%\logs contains
jakarta_service_20061002.log and stderr_20061002.log, both of which are zero length.

The service related logs are generated by commons-daemon. I have created a JIRA
issue for this bug.
