http commit hang after 10 minutes

I'm running apache 2.0.52 on rhel4 with the prebuilt subversion rpms.

When committing 5000 files (adding copyright information) the commit hangs
10 minutes after the first CHECKOUT and during a PUT.

The time of the first CHECKOUT in the ssl_access_log:
  14:50:35
The time of the first PUT in the ssl_access_log:
  14:55:24

The time of the hang:
  15:00:35

Any ideas on how to fix this hanging issue? This happens on linux and
windows, and the timeout httpd.conf variables are set as:

Timeout 10000
KeepAlive On
MaxKeepAliveRequests 0
KeepAliveTimeout 10000
LimitXMLRequestBody 0

In ssl.conf:
SSLSessionCacheTimeout 10000

In servers file:
[global]
http-compression = no
http-timeout = 10000

This commit works with svn+ssh on the same server, so I think it is a
apache/ssl setting that I'm missing.

Thanks,
Jon
