[jira] [Created] (IMPALA-5371) Document TIMESTAMP support for Kudu
tables
John Russell created IMPALA-5371:
------------------------------------
Summary: Document TIMESTAMP support for Kudu tables
Key: IMPALA-5371
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IMPALA-5371
Project: IMPALA
Issue Type: Task
Components: Docs
Affects Versions: Impala 2.9.0
Reporter: John Russell
Assignee: John Russell
Fix For: Impala 2.9.0
New functionality from IMPALA-5137.
"No TIMESTAMP" restriction to be lifted in several places.
Some changes to precision to document under TIMESTAMP page. (A query won't get back exactly the same value that gets inserted into a Kudu table.)
Possible performance caveat if there's significant overhead converting on the way in and out.
Don't think much impact on using date/time functions on TIMESTAMP from Kudu tables. Possibly some nuances related to rounding and extraction functions.
