Some alternate designs for the web site
Hi,
One of my work colleagues has been able to take the time to try some
different things with the Continuum site, and some logos that could go
along with it (I realise there's a URL typo in two of them :)
http://people.apache.org/~brett/continuum_designs/
Any thoughts?

Hi,
In order of preference:
design_3.jpg
design_5.jpg
Logos:
logo_3 copy.png
logo_4 copy.jpg
logo_2 copy.jpg
logo_1 copy.jpg (if the gray colour can be replaced by something brighter)
Cheers,
Rahul

Hi folks,
I saw a few bits of feedback on likes and dislikes. Was there anything
else? Did anyone want me to see if we can get the feedback so far tied
into another proposal?
Thanks,
Brett

Hi Brett,
Is it possible to get couple of more concepts, preferably with brighter
themes? :)
I will have another look at the designs later today, don't want to rush
an opinion ;-)
Logo JPGs are not rendering in firefox apparently due to errors.
Cheers,
Rahul

I really like design_1 and design_4. I couldn't open the logo_? copy.jpg ones.

??? It is for the web site and not (yet) for the app design.

I had some trouble viewing the logos, so i downloaded them and converted
them to pngs.
http://joakim.erdfelt.com/continuum/
As for my opinions ...
I'm not a fan of left hand (or right hand) navigation bars.
especially with data rich applications like continuum.
I would rather see the navigation at the top and the data spread out wide.
The dark background top banner on design_5 is pleasing.
but the clean overall look of design_3 is very pleasant.
I don't like design_1.
As for the logos ...
Logo 1 looks like the original logo that I've grown to like.
just some minor quibbles with the text around it.
Logo 2 looks very plain. *yawn*
Logo 3 looks clean and professional, but also rather unexciting.
Logo 4 is also a bit simple, but less so than #2 and #3.
