Open Office cannot check for updates

Hi, 
I just downloaded your latest version of Open Office after using the second last version for a year. The "Help > check for updates" function didn't work for the last version as well as the current version of Open Office. It states some "server error. error reading data from internet". Fix it. Thanks!

Checking for updates works for me (OO 4.1.7 on Mac OS X 10.12).
