Any schema or specification documentation for OBR?

Hi all, it's a newbie again. :)

I'm looking for the specification document for OBR, but I couldn't find it
yet. It seems like OSGi R4 specification doesn't provide any information
about it. (I searched with the term 'bundle repository')

Is there any documentation or XML schema with sufficient comments?
Otherwise, do I have to take a look at the source code somewhere?

Thanks in advance,
Trustin

I have been spending time on setting up an OSGi repository that has a
new schema. I am currently working with some of the "preferred" bundle
suppliers to finalize the repo, after which I will need approval from
the OSGi board to publish all the info.

This should happen in the next few weeks.

Kind regards,

     Peter Kriens

Thank you, Peter, BJ, and Richard! I already checked out the felix
repository. (You konw, I'm a PPMC. Did you forget? ;) OBR2 will be used
by my team quite soon, so I might post some more questions on it.

Thanks again,

Yes, the new OBR2, is based on some experimentation I was doing for my
next version of OBR...an alpha version of OBR2 has been in Felix since
the code was committed to the repo. It uses a more generic
capability/requirement model for expressing dependencies than the
original OBR.

If you search the early Felix mailing archives, you will see some
discussion on this topic as well as a link into discussions about this
topic in the Oscar mailing list archive.

If you want to mess around with the alpha, just pull it from the Felix
repo and look at the example OBR2 XML file that it references from
Source Forge (which is a precursor to the new format that Peter and I
have worked on).

My goal is update the OBR bundle in the Felix repo to work with the new
XML as soon as I can find the time to do it! :-)

Actually OBR "2" is in the works being led by Peter Kriens at OSGi. So we
have repurposed the acronym to be OSGi Bundle Repository :-)

Richard is working with Peter on the design as well as people from
Equinox, Knopflerfish and commercials OSGi bundle providers. Peter is
working with these folks to get the initial federation running and then we
will announce OBR along with the schema and other technical details.

Stay tuned...

I don't know if there's something out there? However, Richard would
know since he conceived of it. OBR is an Oscar thing not a OSGi thing.
I don't think there is a standard around this. At some point there was
a repository mailing list started to try and do that but it failed to
take off.
