Add ability to disable compactions during bulk load
---------------------------------------------------

                 Key: CASSANDRA-434
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-434
             Project: Cassandra
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: Core
            Reporter: Johan Oskarsson
             Fix For: 0.5

It can be useful to disable compactions during bulk load to avoid overwhelming the servers. Preferably it can be done remotely from the setup code that starts a Hadoop job for example.
