Your jsp has access to your action, in the valuestack. So, you should
be able to ask
<s:if test="hasActionErrors()">
....
</s:if>
Beware: for validation errors,
besides hasActionErrors() you might want to ask hasFieldErrors().
Or use hasErrors() , that includes both
