When will read version of ASModel be ready?

I posted this to the user list but no replies.

Can  anyone  tell  me  when the read-only version of ASModel implementation
will be ready?

I really want to base a transaction entry function on XML schemas.
I could use Castor to generate classes to do it, but would rather just read
the ASModel.
