Thrift vs HBase client?

Exploring/learning the trafodion code, I see that we have some code
accessing HBase client using JNI, but I also see some code related to
Thrift.
Can someone tell me what is using the Thrift path?
Thanks in advance for the help,
Eric

Thrift related code is out already. However, we are forced to link in some thrift libraries because of the include files that are kept around has some inline references to these libraries.

Should we take the Thrift code out?

We don’t use thrift any more in runtime executor code.
We used to use it in the beginning before moving to JNI.
There may be some include files that are there since we
used some of the structures defined in them.
But thrift functionality is no longer used.
