[jira] [Commented] (HIVE-3746) Fix HS2 Fetch performance regression

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-3746?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13695870#comment-13695870 ]

Carl Steinbach commented on HIVE-3746:
--------------------------------------

I also want to add that the HS2 API is capable of supporting multiple resultset serialization formats. Clearly the original resultset serialization format is a failure and needs to be deprecated in favor of something else. I outlined one alternative format in the comments above, but it probably makes more sense to first add support for the serialization format used by HS1.
