tika server docker + solr docker ?
Hi,
I haven't found information about this case: is it possible to have a
solr docker, without tika lib, communicating with tika server docker? Is
there documentation about it?
Other question: do solr/lucene is able to take advantage of gpus
(intel/amd/nvidia)?
Thank you.

My experience, trust me this is a true experience and lesson learned. Use
tika on a separate JVM thread, and let solr digest only json.
In 90% cases when solr will crash, the main culprit will be tika. So better
use tika as service, better tika through docker. I had to rebuild the index
many times just because
it was not recoverable. So, earlier you will learn better you will feel.

Hi,
We have no such plugin (yet) that would accept a binary document and parse it using tika server. But you are encouraged to do the parsing in your application and then send a document with the parsed text to Solr.
Tika also supports fetching, extracting and pushing docs to outputs such as Solr, and there are a few alternative setups. See more in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeYVRpWbCfQ
