DO NOT REPLY [Bug 118977] New: Writer does not remember the
document's layout mode
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=118977
Bug #: 118977
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Writer does not remember the document's layout mode
Classification: Application
Product: Word processor
Version: version58
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P3
Component: open-import
AssignedTo: ooo-issues@incubator.apache.org
ReportedBy: villeroy@t-online.de
Ariel's inofficial build
http://people.apache.org/~arielch/packages/r1291124/linux_x86/OOo-Dev_OOO340m1_Linux_x86_install-deb_en-US.tar.gz
opens all database forms in page layout rather than web layout which makes my
forms unusable or very ugly at least. Same with Oracle 3.4 beta and all LibO
versions since 3.4.0.
This may be related to https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=117545
which fixed the issue for the form design mode of embedded forms. But this does
not help if your well designed form gets crammed into page layout when you try
to use it.
This bug affects my stand-alone Writer documents as well, with or without
forms. All Writer documents open in page layout after restarting the office.
With 3.3.x versions the layout mode seems to be stored in the document and the
application opens each document in its respective layout mode. So I assigned
the issue to the Writer component although it may be most annoying for Base
designers.
This is the one and only reason why I can't upgrade from LibO 3.3.4 nor switch
back to OpenOffice.org.

I did some additional tests with 2 Writer documents saved with both layout
modes.
AOO-dev 3.4 opens them correctly. The issue depends on the existence of a form
control.
After adding a push button, AOO-dev opens the web-layout document in page
layout.
After removing that push button the same document opens in web-layout. So it
has nothing to do with the remaining empty form. A hidden form control does not
trigger the problem neither.
But a regular form control does even when it is set to be invisible.

Created attachment 77505
--> https://issues.apache.org/ooo/attachment.cgi?id=77505
4 *.odt documents
Issue still exists in AOO 3.4 RC1. Even OOo 1.1.5 does it right.
I attach a zip with 4 odt files:
no_button_page.odt (ordinary text opens in page layout)
no_button_web.odt (ordinary text opens in web layout)
button_page.odt (text with button opens in page layout)
button_web.odt (text with button *should* open in web layout)

I have overseen this issue, when I have made the fix for bug 119292.
Both issue are describing the same problem.
As I have already fixed bug 119292 I am marking this issue as duplicate
*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 119292 ***

Verified it on Aoo_Trunk_20120616.1800.1350879 and it does not reproduce, the
primary bug is fixed yet, so close it as fixed.
