Create a new Table inside word document

Hi,
   I am new to POI. My requirement is to read the entire word document and
replace an empty table with new table. I am unable to create a table using
org.apache.poi.xwpf.usermodel.XWPFTable
I am using poi-3.8-beta5 jar/scratchpad jars

Can anyone guide me with the useful code snippet.
