[users@httpd] Heavy Handed Censorship
"I've asked you nicely to stop posting on this topic.
Others have asked the same thing. I am the moderator
of this list, and if you continue to act disruptively,
you will lose your posting privileges."
That does it!
I will not participate in a group which practices
heavy handed censorship through intimidation
and threat.
It is ok for the rest of you to post to my
topic. Is not ok for me to post to my topic.
It is ok for the moderator to continue to
post to my topic. It is not ok for me to
continue to post to my topic.
You, the reader are allowed to post to and
to reply to my articles. I am not allowed
to do the same.
You, the reader are allowed to troll, post
personal insults, waste readers time. I am
not allowed to stay on topic, not allowed
to engage others in spirited discussion
while encouraging others to be polite.
You, the moderator of this mailing list,
are behaving in a prejudicial manner
which is highly inappropriate. You are
playing favorites and playing God.
This is a Good Ol' Boys club.
Shame on you. You do not deserve nor are
qualified to be the moderator here.
You will not threaten me nor will I place
myself in a position which allows you to
continue to threaten me.
My dignity makes no allowance for associating
myself with this type of inappropriate behavior.
It shames me to known as a member here in a group
which practices discrimination and censorship.

Your thread descended into a flamewar, with you on one side and
everybody else on the other. It's far easier to get one person to stop
posting than everyone else. Therefore, he asked you to stop posting.
This is not unreasonable.
The moderator is not saying you can't babble about Apache's "WebDAV
bug"--he's just saying you can't do it *here*, on what amounts to his
property. This is moderation, not censorship.
If you can't tell the difference between the two, I can't say I'm sorry
to see you go.

Whew. She/he is gone.
I apologize to the group both for engaging her/him in the first place and
for not being more aggressive in cutting this off earlier.
Now let's move on.

I have noted others are still posting to my article.
I am not allowed to post to my article.
You are invited to join me in alt.apache.configuration
if you would enjoy having me verbally kick your butts
for not knowing as much as you should about Apache.

Please, stop the non-sense posts on this mailing list, fill (or complete
with more info) a damn Bugzilla bug-report or at least continue the
discussion privately (irc, msn, yahoo, whatever). There're enough posts on
the last days that are doing everything but helping Apache users. It doesn't
matter who's the "bad" guy here but this mailing list is about helping users
not filling their mail accounts with useless posts.
Just my opinion.
Thanks.
