Kafka unable to process message

Hi there,

What does the below error mean and  how to avoid this? I see this error one of the kafkaServer.out file when other broker is down.

And not able to process any message as we see o.a.k.c.c.i.AbstractCoordinator - Issuing group metadata request to broker 5  from application log
