Significant Jenkins upgrade happening tomorrow / Sunday - may break some things

One new thing is that Maven Jobs will now require Java 8.

There are 2 kinds of workarounds that enable testing on older (e.g. Java 7)
things, described in the mail chain about this Jenkins update on the builds
mailing list.  Until something like that is done, the Jenkins Maven jobs will be
automatically running with Java 8 (even if it says to use Java 7).
