We exercise this feature in conformance tests output28, 29, 30, 41, etc, and as 
far as we know from those, it's working correctly. You might want to compare 
what you're doing with those files. If you're sure your stylesheet is correct, 
attach a small example to this bugzilla report so we can analyse it. (A bare "it 
doesn't work" is _very_ hard to debug!)

(I'm presuming you're asking about interpretive Xalan, rather than about XSLTC. 
If it's the latter, please clarify and someone who's working on that side of the 
system will have to look at it.)
