The textLength attribute of a text element works only if the text element
content starts at least with a non white character.

It doesn't work for example if the text element first child is a tspan element.

This is now fixed in SVN.  There is still a problem where textLength="" on
<text> elements that have a <textPath> somewhere in them won't work, but I'll
file a separate bug for that.
