Varying size of Excel Sheet with formula cells

Hi All,
I've noticed that the size of an excel file changes when I read it and try
saving/rewriting it in a different location.

This especially happens when I try reading and rewriting an excel file in
which have there are formula cells.
This problem doesn't occur with files that do not have formula cells.

Is there any way to avoid this problem?
