UIMA 2.7.0 and UIMA AS 2.6.0

We just came back from the ApacheCon in Austin, TX, and heard a lot of good
things about the UIMA 2.7.0. So we'd like to upgrade to it.

One thing I noticed is that the latest release for UIMA is 2.7.0 but for
UIMA AS it is still 2.6.0. Also, UIMA AS release seems to come with some
jar files from UIMA, such as uima-core.jar, uima-cpe.jar, etc. So the UIMA
AS 2.6.0 release comes with UIMA 2.6.0 jar files in its lib folder.

In the past, UIMA and UIMA AS have been release in sync. So for our
deployment, we only need to point to the UIMA AS folder as our UIMA_HOME.

Now, with UIMA AS and UIMA being out of sync, we can no longer do that.

I am wondering if it is ok for us to just swap out the UIMA libraries in
the UIMA AS 2.6.0 release folder with UIMA 2.7.0 jar files.

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for the response. I tried that myself and it appears to be working
fine.

I have so far had no problems after replacing uima-core.jar in the UIMA AS
2.6.0 distro with the uima-core.jar from UIMA 2.7.0 and running UIMA-AS
clients and services.
