[D] Superset Genral Doubt version 6 [superset]
GitHub user user1500177 created a discussion: Superset Genral Doubt version 6
I'm exploring the ECharts visualizations in Apache Superset v6 and noticed that Apache ECharts itself provides many line chart variants and other chart types, while in Superset version 6 when exposes only a smaller subset (for example, only a couple of line chart options etc comapared to whats in the apache E charts).
<img width="715" height="395" alt="image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/f885d4a9-ca98-40e4-9528-cd216c549a9f" />
I have a few questions:
Is there a way to enable additional Apache ECharts chart types or line chart variants in Superset v6 through feature flags, [superset_config.py] or any other configuration?
Or is this the there only that many supported line charts in apache superset version 6?
I'm trying to understand whether the disparity between the Apache ECharts examples and the charts available in Superset is a configuration choice or an architectural limitation.

@dosu , can u help me out ?
Hi @dosu ,
i have added a new echart completely called theme river (code as attached ; apart fro mit i did make edit in the viztype , index.ts , Mainprest.js)
```
ONE ISSUE I AM SEEING - Should i be adding something more - as at times if i use these charts on dashboards they are not visible - but at times rarely they are (like if i click on edit chart and then take dashboards all the charts like themerive , calendar pie etc which i added will work but else NOT what is the reason ? )
or the way by which i should have done
also can u tell me the reason for this:
return (
<Echart
refs={refs}
height={height}
width={width}
echartOptions={echartOptions}
eventHandlers={eventHandlers}
selectedValues={selectedValues}
/>
);
should i be retunrning more things from the chartname.tsx ?
what is the use of the event handlers which is one thign i missed on : also is there any other data that i should have retrned from the chartname.tsx - could ou in detial go on about hte use of each file and any concpet if i have missed how to add them ?
<!-- Answer -->
The disparity you're seeing is an **architectural decision**, not a configuration choice. There are no feature flags or `superset_config.py` settings to enable additional ECharts chart types.
Here's why: Superset doesn't directly expose the ECharts library to users. Instead, each chart type is implemented as a dedicated plugin class (extending `EchartsChartPlugin`) that requires custom Superset-specific code [[1]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/types.ts#L178-L192):
- A **query builder** (`buildQuery`) to fetch data from your datasource
- A **control panel** defining the UI options in the chart editor
- A **transform function** (`transformProps`) to convert Superset query results into ECharts options
- **Metadata** (category, description, thumbnails)
All available ECharts plugins are registered in `MainPreset` at application startup [[2]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/src/visualizations/presets/MainPreset.js#L45-L72) — currently about 23 chart types including Line, Area, Bar, Step Line, Smooth Line, Scatter, Pie, Funnel, Radar, Gauge, Heatmap, Treemap, Sunburst, Sankey, Waterfall, Gantt, and others [[3]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/index.ts#L19-L46).
There is a `CHART_PLUGINS_EXPERIMENTAL` feature flag [[4]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset/config.py#L556-L557), but it only controls experimental plugins as a group — it doesn't unlock hidden chart types.
**To add a new ECharts chart variant**, you would need to write code:
1. Create a new plugin class extending `EchartsChartPlugin`
2. Implement buildQuery, controlPanel, transformProps, and metadata
3. Export it from the plugin package
4. Register it in `MainPreset`
So to directly answer your question: what you see is all that's currently supported out of the box in Superset. Expanding it requires development work rather than configuration.
@rusackas
hi thanks for the reply ,
Is there any timeline for this coming in subsequent superset versions
it could be helpful if there is any tutorial / code examples which i could refer to see how this is done (is it similar to what Dosu bot had said ?)
The thing is that - by inspiring from the various charts that are present as examples already there in Echarts if i am able to add like 4 or 5 new ones or customize it would be useful
Both charts are absolutely doable. Let me address them one at a time, and also the loading issue.
***
**Why Superset stopped loading:** The most common causes when adding a new plugin are:
- A missing or incorrect import (typo in the file path or export name)
- Not adding your `VizType` to the enum before referencing it in `MainPreset`
- Syntax errors in `controlPanel.tsx` or `transformProps.ts`
Check your browser console (DevTools → Console) for the actual error — it will tell you exactly which import or file is failing.
***
### Chart 1: Smooth Line Chart — You may not even need a new plugin!
Superset **already ships** a Smooth Line chart variant. It's in `superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Timeseries/Regular/SmoothLine/` [[1]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Timeseries/Regular/SmoothLine/index.ts). It works by wrapping the shared Timeseries `transformProps` and injecting `smooth: true` into the ECharts series config [[2]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Timeseries/transformers.ts#L127-L138):
```typescript
smooth: seriesType === EchartsTimeseriesSeriesType.Smooth,
```
So if you just want a smooth line chart, look for **"Line Chart"** in the chart picker and select the **"Smooth Line"** variant — it's already there.
If you want a *custom* smooth line with different behavior, you can follow that same pattern: wrap the shared transformProps and override the specific options you need [[3]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Timeseries/Regular/SmoothLine/index.ts#L32-L39):
```typescript
const myCustomTransformProps = (chartProps: EchartsTimeseriesChartProps) =>
transformProps({
...chartProps,
formData: {
...chartProps.formData,
seriesType: EchartsTimeseriesSeriesType.Smooth,
// add your custom overrides here
},
});
```
***
### Chart 2: Geo Graph Chart — This requires a new plugin
The geo chart with map + graph overlay is more involved. Superset already has a [Graph chart plugin](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Graph/transformProps.ts) that handles nodes and edges, but it uses force/circular layout — not a geo coordinate system. Here's what you'd need:
**Step 1 — Add VizType** in `superset-frontend/packages/superset-ui-core/src/chart/types/VizType.ts` [[4]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/packages/superset-ui-core/src/chart/types/VizType.ts#L19-L66):
```typescript
export enum VizType {
// ... existing entries
EchartsGeoGraph = 'echarts_geo_graph',
}
```
**Step 2 — Create your plugin directory** at `superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/GeoGraph/` with these files:
**`types.ts`:**
```typescript
import { QueryFormData, QueryFormColumn } from '@superset-ui/core';
import { BaseChartProps, BaseTransformedProps } from '../types';
export type EchartsGeoGraphFormData = QueryFormData & {
source: QueryFormColumn;
target: QueryFormColumn;
metric: string;
longitude: QueryFormColumn;
latitude: QueryFormColumn;
mapType: string; // e.g. 'world', 'USA', 'ch'
};
export interface EchartsGeoGraphChartProps
extends BaseChartProps<EchartsGeoGraphFormData> {
formData: EchartsGeoGraphFormData;
}
export type GeoGraphTransformedProps = BaseTransformedProps<EchartsGeoGraphFormData>;
```
**`buildQuery.ts`** — tell Superset which form fields become SQL columns (similar to the existing Graph plugin) [[5]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Graph/buildQuery.ts#L21-L29):
```typescript
import { buildQueryContext, QueryFormData } from '@superset-ui/core';
export default function buildQuery(formData: QueryFormData) {
return buildQueryContext(formData, {
queryFields: {
source: 'columns',
target: 'columns',
longitude: 'columns',
latitude: 'columns',
},
});
}
```
**`transformProps.ts`** — this is the key file where you convert DB data into ECharts options:
```typescript
export default function transformProps(chartProps) {
const { width, height, formData, queriesData } = chartProps;
const data = queriesData[0]?.data || [];
// Build nodes from your query data
const nodes = data.map(row => ({
name: String(row[formData.source]),
value: [row[formData.longitude], row[formData.latitude]],
}));
// Build edges
const edges = data.map(row => ({
source: String(row[formData.source]),
target: String(row[formData.target]),
}));
const echartOptions = {
geo: {
map: formData.mapType || 'world',
roam: true,
label: { show: true },
},
series: [
{
type: 'graph',
coordinateSystem: 'geo',
data: nodes,
edges,
edgeSymbol: ['none', 'arrow'],
edgeSymbolSize: 5,
lineStyle: { color: '#718adb', opacity: 1 },
},
],
};
return { formData, width, height, echartOptions, refs: {} };
}
```
**`controlPanel.tsx`:**
```typescript
import { t } from '@superset-ui/core';
import { ControlPanelConfig, sharedControls } from '@superset-ui/chart-controls';
const config: ControlPanelConfig = {
controlPanelSections: [
{
label: t('Query'),
expanded: true,
controlSetRows: [
[{ name: 'source', config: { ...sharedControls.entity, label: t('Source') } }],
[{ name: 'target', config: { ...sharedControls.entity, label: t('Target') } }],
[{ name: 'longitude', config: { ...sharedControls.entity, label: t('Longitude') } }],
[{ name: 'latitude', config: { ...sharedControls.entity, label: t('Latitude') } }],
['metric'],
['adhoc_filters'],
['row_limit'],
],
},
],
};
export default config;
```
**`EchartsGeoGraph.tsx`:**
```typescript
import Echart from '../components/Echart';
export default function EchartsGeoGraph(props) {
const { height, width, echartOptions, refs } = props;
return <Echart refs={refs} height={height} width={width} echartOptions={echartOptions} />;
}
```
**`index.ts`:**
```typescript
import { t, Behavior } from '@superset-ui/core';
import { EchartsChartPlugin } from '../types';
import buildQuery from './buildQuery';
import controlPanel from './controlPanel';
import transformProps from './transformProps';
import thumbnail from '../Graph/images/thumbnail.png'; // reuse for now
export default class EchartsGeoGraphPlugin extends EchartsChartPlugin {
constructor() {
super({
buildQuery,
controlPanel,
loadChart: () => import('./EchartsGeoGraph'),
metadata: {
behaviors: [Behavior.InteractiveChart],
category: t('ECharts'),
credits: ['https://echarts.apache.org'],
description: t('A geo graph showing routes on a map'),
name: t('Geo Graph'),
tags: [t('ECharts'), t('Geo'), t('Network')],
thumbnail,
},
transformProps,
});
}
}
```
**Step 3 — Export** from `superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/index.ts` [[6]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/index.ts):
```typescript
export { default as EchartsGeoGraphPlugin } from './GeoGraph';
```
**Step 4 — Register** in `superset-frontend/src/visualizations/presets/MainPreset.js` [[7]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/src/visualizations/presets/MainPreset.js#L101-L112):
```javascript
import { EchartsGeoGraphPlugin } from '@superset-ui/plugin-chart-echarts';
// In the plugins array:
new EchartsGeoGraphPlugin().configure({ key: VizType.EchartsGeoGraph }),
```
**Important note for the Geo chart:** You'll also need to register the map GeoJSON data with ECharts (e.g., `echarts.registerMap('world', geoJSON)`) somewhere in your component or app initialization. This is the trickiest part — you can load a GeoJSON file and register it in your `EchartsGeoGraph.tsx` component before rendering.
***
**Recommended approach:** Start with Chart 1 (smooth line) since it already exists in Superset. Once you're comfortable with the plugin architecture, move on to the Geo Graph which requires more custom work. And check your browser console for the error that's preventing your current build from loading — that'll be the fastest way to debug.
<!-- Answer -->
Here's a step-by-step example of adding a custom ECharts chart to Superset, modeled on how existing plugins like Gauge are built.
**1. Create a directory** under `superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/YourChartType/` with this structure [[1]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Gauge):
```
YourChartType/
├── images/
│ ├── thumbnail.png
│ └── example1.jpg
├── index.ts # Plugin class
├── EchartsYourChart.tsx # React component
├── controlPanel.tsx # UI controls
├── transformProps.ts # Data → ECharts options
├── buildQuery.ts # Query construction
├── types.ts # TypeScript interfaces
└── constants.ts # Default config
```
**2. Plugin class (`index.ts`)** — registers your chart with Superset [[2]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Gauge/index.ts):
```typescript
import { t, Behavior } from '@superset-ui/core';
import controlPanel from './controlPanel';
import transformProps from './transformProps';
import buildQuery from './buildQuery';
import thumbnail from './images/thumbnail.png';
import { EchartsChartPlugin } from '../types';
import { EchartsYourChartFormData, EchartsYourChartProps } from './types';
export default class EchartsYourChartPlugin extends EchartsChartPlugin<
EchartsYourChartFormData,
EchartsYourChartProps
> {
constructor() {
super({
buildQuery,
controlPanel,
loadChart: () => import('./EchartsYourChart'),
metadata: {
behaviors: [Behavior.InteractiveChart, Behavior.DrillToDetail],
category: t('ECharts'),
credits: ['https://echarts.apache.org'],
description: t('My custom ECharts chart'),
name: t('Your Chart Name'),
tags: [t('ECharts'), t('Custom')],
thumbnail,
},
transformProps,
});
}
}
```
**3. Build query (`buildQuery.ts`)** — usually simple [[3]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Gauge/buildQuery.ts):
```typescript
import { buildQueryContext, QueryFormData } from '@superset-ui/core';
export default function buildQuery(formData: QueryFormData) {
return buildQueryContext(formData, baseQueryObject => [
{ ...baseQueryObject },
]);
}
```
**4. Transform props (`transformProps.ts`)** — this is where you map Superset data into ECharts options [[4]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Gauge/transformProps.ts):
```typescript
import { EChartsCoreOption } from 'echarts';
import { DataRecord } from '@superset-ui/core';
export default function transformProps(chartProps) {
const { width, height, formData, queriesData } = chartProps;
const data = (queriesData[0]?.data || []) as DataRecord[];
// Transform your data into ECharts format
const echartOptions: EChartsCoreOption = {
series: [
{
type: 'yourEchartsType', // e.g. 'candlestick', 'parallel', etc.
data: data.map(row => ({
// Map Superset data to ECharts data format
})),
},
],
// Add any other ECharts options (tooltip, legend, xAxis, yAxis, etc.)
};
return { formData, width, height, echartOptions, refs: {} };
}
```
**5. React component (`EchartsYourChart.tsx`)** — just a thin wrapper [[5]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Gauge/EchartsGauge.tsx):
```typescript
import Echart from '../components/Echart';
export default function EchartsYourChart(props) {
const { height, width, echartOptions, refs } = props;
return (
<Echart refs={refs} height={height} width={width} echartOptions={echartOptions} />
);
}
```
**6. Export from the package** — add to `superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/index.ts` [[6]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/index.ts):
```typescript
export { default as EchartsYourChartPlugin } from './YourChartType';
```
**7. Register in MainPreset** — add to `superset-frontend/src/visualizations/presets/MainPreset.js` [[7]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/src/visualizations/presets/MainPreset.js#L45-L72):
```javascript
import { EchartsYourChartPlugin } from '@superset-ui/plugin-chart-echarts';
// Inside the plugins array:
new EchartsYourChartPlugin().configure({ key: 'echarts_your_chart' }),
```
That's it! After these changes, rebuild the frontend (`npm run build` or restart the dev server) and your new chart type will appear in the chart picker.
The key insight is that `transformProps` is where the real work happens — you take Superset's query results and construct the ECharts option object exactly as you would from the [ECharts documentation](https://echarts.apache.org/en/option.html). The rest is boilerplate registration and wiring.
<!-- Answer -->
Nice work getting the ThemeRiver plugin built! The intermittent dashboard rendering issue is almost certainly caused by a **missing size/lifecycle guard combined with how dashboards mount charts differently than the editor**. Let me walk through the specific problems and fixes.
***
### 1. Use `EchartsChartPlugin` instead of `ChartPlugin`
In your `index.ts`, you're extending the base `ChartPlugin`, but all ECharts plugins should extend `EchartsChartPlugin` which sets `parseMethod: 'json-bigint'` for proper data handling [[1]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/types.ts#L178-L192):
```typescript
// ❌ Your current code
import { t, ChartMetadata, ChartPlugin } from '@superset-ui/core';
export default class EchartsThemeRiverChartPlugin extends ChartPlugin {
constructor() {
super({ buildQuery, controlPanel, loadChart, metadata, transformProps });
}
}
// ✅ Change to
import { t, Behavior } from '@superset-ui/core';
import { EchartsChartPlugin } from '../types';
export default class EchartsThemeRiverChartPlugin extends EchartsChartPlugin<
ThemeRiverFormData,
ThemeRiverChartProps
> {
constructor() {
super({
buildQuery,
controlPanel,
loadChart: () => import('./ThemeRiver'),
metadata: {
behaviors: [Behavior.InteractiveChart],
category: t('Trend'),
credits: ['https://echarts.apache.org'],
description: t('Displays how multiple categories evolve over time...'),
name: t('Theme River'),
tags: [t('ECharts'), t('Time'), t('Trend'), t('Stacked')],
thumbnail,
exampleGallery: [{ url: example1 }],
},
transformProps,
});
}
}
```
When you use `EchartsChartPlugin`, the metadata is passed as a plain object (not a `new ChartMetadata(...)` instance) — the constructor wraps it for you [[1]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/types.ts#L178-L192).
***
### 2. Your `transformProps` is missing dashboard-critical props — this is the main issue
Your `transformProps` currently returns only `{ refs, echartOptions, width, height, formData }`. On dashboards, the chart framework passes extra hooks and filter state that your chart needs to at least acknowledge. Compare what other working charts return [[2]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Gauge/transformProps.ts#L352-L366) [[3]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Funnel/transformProps.ts#L298-L312):
```typescript
export default function transformProps(
chartProps: ThemeRiverChartProps,
): ThemeRiverTransformedProps {
const refs: Refs = {};
const {
width,
height,
formData,
queriesData,
hooks, // ← you're not destructuring this
filterState, // ← or this
emitCrossFilters,
datasource,
} = chartProps;
const { setDataMask = () => {}, onContextMenu } = hooks;
// ... your existing data transformation logic ...
return {
refs,
echartOptions,
width,
height,
formData,
// Add these for dashboard compatibility:
setDataMask,
emitCrossFilters,
onContextMenu,
selectedValues: filterState?.selectedValues || {},
coltypeMapping,
groupby: [],
labelMap: {},
};
}
```
The `filterState` and `hooks` are provided by the dashboard framework. If `setDataMask` or `onContextMenu` aren't properly passed through, event handlers will silently fail and can cause rendering issues.
***
### 3. Event handlers — what they do and how to add them
The `allEventHandlers` utility generates `click` and `contextmenu` event handlers [[4]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/utils/eventHandlers.ts#L147-L179):
- **`click`**: Implements **cross-filtering** — clicking a data point in one chart filters other charts on the dashboard
- **`contextmenu`**: Enables the **right-click menu** for drill-to-detail and drill-by
Your `ThemeRiver.tsx` should use them:
```typescript
import { ThemeRiverTransformedProps } from './types';
import Echart from '../components/Echart';
import { allEventHandlers } from '../utils/eventHandlers';
export default function ThemeRiver(props: ThemeRiverTransformedProps) {
const { height, width, echartOptions, refs, selectedValues } = props;
const eventHandlers = allEventHandlers(props);
return (
<Echart
refs={refs}
height={height}
width={width}
echartOptions={echartOptions}
eventHandlers={eventHandlers}
selectedValues={selectedValues}
/>
);
}
```
For `allEventHandlers` to work, your `transformProps` must return `groupby`, `labelMap`, `selectedValues`, `setDataMask`, `onContextMenu`, `emitCrossFilters`, `coltypeMapping`, and `formData` [[5]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/utils/eventHandlers.ts#L147-L159). Since ThemeRiver doesn't have a natural `groupby` for cross-filtering, passing `groupby: []` effectively disables cross-filter clicks (the click handler becomes a no-op) while still enabling context menus.
***
### 4. Update your types to include the new fields
Your `ThemeRiverTransformedProps` type should include the cross-filter and context-menu props:
```typescript
import {
BaseTransformedProps,
ContextMenuTransformedProps,
CrossFilterTransformedProps,
} from '../types';
export type ThemeRiverTransformedProps =
BaseTransformedProps<ThemeRiverFormData> &
ContextMenuTransformedProps &
CrossFilterTransformedProps;
```
This matches the pattern used by Gauge [[6]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Gauge/transformProps.ts) and Funnel [[7]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Funnel/transformProps.ts).
***
### Why this causes the "works in editor but not dashboard" behavior
In the **chart editor**, the chart is the primary focus — it mounts with full dimensions and minimal cross-filter plumbing. On **dashboards**, charts are embedded in a grid layout that:
1. Mounts them at potentially different lifecycle stages
2. Passes `hooks` with `setDataMask`, `onContextMenu`, and `filterState`
3. Expects the chart to integrate with the cross-filter system
When these props are missing from `transformProps`, the dashboard rendering pipeline can behave unpredictably — sometimes rendering fine, sometimes failing silently depending on timing and what other charts are doing on the dashboard.
***
### Quick checklist
| Fix | File |
|-----|------|
| Use `EchartsChartPlugin` instead of `ChartPlugin` | `index.ts` |
| Destructure and return `hooks`, `filterState`, `emitCrossFilters` | `transformProps.ts` |
| Add `allEventHandlers` and `selectedValues` | `ThemeRiver.tsx` |
| Extend types with `ContextMenuTransformedProps` & `CrossFilterTransformedProps` | `types.ts` |
@dosu
ok when i tried to do the same , the superset application itslef is not loading ,
I want to specifically introduce the following sort of chart what all chages from scratch i should be making ?
Example for one chart i need to bring into the Superset :
The below change is like Another one that is needed : a new type of line chart lets say for example
Chart 1 :
```
option = {
xAxis: {
type: 'category',
data: ['Mon', 'Tue', 'Wed', 'Thu', 'Fri', 'Sat', 'Sun']
},
yAxis: {
type: 'value'
},
series: [
{
data: [820, 932, 901, 934, 1290, 1330, 1320],
type: 'line',
smooth: true
}
]
};
```
Are these DOABL , can u give me example IN THE MANNER I SHOULD proceed by seeing such .js or .tsx CODE and then incorporating the same to SUPERSET properly so that the data from db is shown - and properl integartion occurs
The below one is like a geo chart
```
function createChart() {
var chRoughLatitude = 47;
option = {
title: {
text: 'Travel Routes'
},
geo: {
map: 'ch',
roam: true,
aspectScale: Math.cos((chRoughLatitude * Math.PI) / 180),
// nameProperty: 'name_en', // If using en name.
label: {
show: true,
textBorderColor: '#fff',
textBorderWidth: 2
}
},
tooltip: {},
series: [
{
type: 'graph',
coordinateSystem: 'geo',
data: [
{ name: 'a', value: [7.667821250000001, 46.791734269956265] },

ok when i tried to do the same , the superset application itslef is not loading ,
I want to specifically introduce the following sort of chart what all chages from scratch i should be making ?
Example for one chart i need to bring into the Superset :
The below change is like Another one that is needed : a new type of line chart lets say for example
Chart 1 :
```
option = {
xAxis: {
type: 'category',
data: ['Mon', 'Tue', 'Wed', 'Thu', 'Fri', 'Sat', 'Sun']
},
yAxis: {
type: 'value'
},
series: [
{
data: [820, 932, 901, 934, 1290, 1330, 1320],
type: 'line',
smooth: true
}
]
};
```
Are these DOABL , can u give me example IN THE MANNER I SHOULD proceed by seeing such .js or .tsx CODE and then incorporating the same to SUPERSET properly so that the data from db is shown - and properl integartion occurs
The below one is like a geo chart
```
function createChart() {
var chRoughLatitude = 47;
option = {
title: {
text: 'Travel Routes'
},
geo: {
map: 'ch',
roam: true,
aspectScale: Math.cos((chRoughLatitude * Math.PI) / 180),
// nameProperty: 'name_en', // If using en name.
label: {
show: true,
textBorderColor: '#fff',
textBorderWidth: 2
}
},
tooltip: {},
series: [
{
type: 'graph',
coordinateSystem: 'geo',
data: [
{ name: 'a', value: [7.667821250000001, 46.791734269956265] },
Even in ECharts, those are just examples... they are highlighting the framework's capabilities, any of which can be added to Superset. You can enhance the existing built in charts, and/or add new visualization types. We're working to make these Extension contribution points, so it'll be easier to do so in the future.
