[jira] [Commented] (ZOOKEEPER-1078) add maven build support to ZooKeeper

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZOOKEEPER-1078?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15771466#comment-15771466 ]

Christopher Tubbs commented on ZOOKEEPER-1078:
----------------------------------------------

Really wishing this were working with current releases. Trying to package ZooKeeper for EPEL7 (for use in CentOS7) and having a lot of difficulty dealing with ivy. :(
Doing dependency convergence with xmvn macros are much easier than patching ivy, and ivy-local (available in Fedora) helps do dependency resolution from locally installed RPM dependencies. It's a bit trickier to do that manually. ZooKeeper as a maven project (even if it used 'maven-ant-plugin' for ant tasks) would be HUGELY convenient. :)
