Yet Another Data Model Description

Hi all, just a quick note to make you aware of the (n+1)th Data Model
post on my blog (http://schabby.de/cassandra-getting-started/).
Comments/corrections are very welcome before I start translating the
post to German.

Hi Jonathan,

yip, the code snipped served me well for making my first steps with Cassandra.

Thought, I am thinking that many small examples, e.g. one for each API
method, may additionally help people to easier understand what API
method does what. Anyway, let me see how far I get with these
examples. Let's see then if they are worth putting on the wiki...

Regards,

Johannes

There is a java section in http://wiki.apache.org/cassandra/ClientExamples

Hi Eben,

Thanks for your comment! The title "Getting Started" is actually a bit
misleading. I intend to write a (very short) sequel post on the
installation and configuration of Cassandra which includes the
connection setup. This is second post will be definitely shorter than
the first one, because Cassandra runs so nicely out of the box. A
third post will provide a couple of basic code examples, maybe one for
each method in the Thrift API. I am happy to put the code examples on
the Wiki if you like.

Hi Johannes

Very nice job. I understand that your focus is on the data model, but I
wonder if it would be useful to add a short section describing how to create
a connection to a Cassandra instance from within Java, to make it a more
complete tutorial?

Thanks.
